Every pet is different. But here’s how the goodbye usually unfolds, gently and calmly.

Ali will greet you quietly, meet your pet, and give everyone time to settle. There’s no rush.
2️⃣ Sedation
Ali will give a gentle injection and your pet will fall into a deep, calm sleep.
3️⃣ Goodbye

Once they’re deeply asleep, Ali will give the second injection - a gentle anaesthetic overdose. Your pet will pass peacefully, often without even noticing.
4️⃣ Afterlife care
You’ll have time to say your final goodbye. Ali can help with paw prints, a lock of fur, or quiet silence. If you’ve chosen cremation, she’ll take your pet gently with her.

How to prepare - emotionally and practically
Emotionally:
It’s okay to feel uncertain. Or guilty. Or numb. Or completely undone. Some people cry. Others feel relief. Many feel both.
There’s no “correct” way to show love in this moment. You don’t have to be strong. You only have to be present.
Practically:
Choose a quiet space - a favourite bed, sunny spot, or even the garden.
Try to keep other pets nearby (or gently apart, if that’s easier).
Have a soft blanket or towel ready.
Light music, a candle, or their favourite toy can help.
If children are present, Ali will guide them gently and answer questions. Don’t worry about the mess or the emotion. You don’t need to tidy. You don’t need to host the vet. This is your moment.
